With the Summer School holidays already on us, we thought we would gather a few highlights from the countless events in the area.  Most visitor attractions are holding their own events, and local libraries are also running different activities for children, but here are a few extra activities that could be worth a look!

FREE! 26th to 28th July 10am to 5pm.  Join the Friends of Launceston Priory as they investigate the results of a geo-physical survey.  Have a go at digging a test pit, Undertake finds washing, No archaeological experience necessary, Free to participate!

Bude Swim Safe

Get children aged 7–14 ready for safe swimming in open water with Swim England’s free water safety sessions. Public sessions run from 29th July – 8th August.
BUDE Swim Safe site co-ordinator, Bill Williams, and his fantastic team of teachers and staff, have announced that Swim Safe will be back in Bude this summer from July 29 thanks to the generosity and kindness of everyone that supported their fund raising events earlier this year at Rosie’s Kitchen and The Preston Gate pub.

Something for everyone the whole afternoon.  Bring your dog along to enjoy the fun at the Family Dog Show presented by Carol Valvona of Bonafido Dog Training.  Don’t worry about the weather – everything will be under cover if it rains. Old or young just come and join us for a friendly day out at a local venue.

Lifeboat Weekend & Maritime Festival join forces this year for a thrilling family fun-filled weekend.
On the Saturday, you can watch the thrilling Clovelly Cup yacht race and a 2 mile sponsored swim from Bucks Mills to Clovelly.
And on Saturday and Sunday, there will be stalls selling delicious food, BBQs and so much entertainment for all, including live music, stilt entertainers, event-themed arts & crafts, storytelling, children’s activities, Punch & Judy, face painting, competitions and lifeboat operational displays.
