The nights are getting longer and the kids are back at school with the summer holidays feeling like a distant memory.  Don’t worry – this autumn, the region is cooking up a fantastic array of events to look forward to within reach of North Cornwall.  With Halloween and Bonfire Night, there will be many seasonal treats in store, but here are 10 other events and festivals to put in your diary.

Looe Music Festival

Mid-Century & Vintage Festival, Bedruthan Hotel, Newquay
7th- 8th October 2017

A festival featuring a range of mid-century home wares, furniture, antiques, collectibles, handmade and vintage-inspired prettiness, fashion and beauty, live music  and vintage cars.


Heritage Open Days – various locations
7th – 10th September 2017

Heritage Open Days give free entry to various cultural and historical attractions, some of which are usually closed to the public.  Properties across the county are taking part, including Launceston town, Tintagel Post Office, the Arthurian Centre and more, so for a full list of your closest venues, head to the website.

Newquay Fish Festival
8th – 10th September 2017

This popular fish festival promotes the very best of the region’s seafood, with local produce stalls, expert cooking demonstrations, and entertainment throughout the day.

Looe Music Festival

A great beach-based music festival, this year featuring The Happy Mondays, Lulu and others.  Tickets still available, with other events happening throughout the town.

Eden Beer Festival
30th September 2017

An annual celebration of craft ales, speciality ciders and artisan gins from Cornwall and beyond, with live music a great local food.  Buy tickets online in advance.  Your ticket includes a commemorative pint glass and four free drinks.


Callington Honey Fair
4th October 2017

This historic street fair is one of the largest in Cornwall.  You can expect a fun fair, live music, craft stalls, and a lot of honey related produce. 


North Cornwall Book Festival, St Endellion
5th – 8th October 2017

Workshops, concerts and local produce, all to celebrate the wonderful world of literature.  This year, confirmed big names include Michael Morpurgo, Maggie O’Farrell, Matt Haig and Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.

Launceston Carnival 2017
14th October 2017

A great historic carnival, complete with the usual selection of fun floats and entertainment winding its way down through the town.


Holsworthy Carnival

Another wonderful traditional carnival, with a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere.

A great place to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, with numerous craft and produce stalls.  There are also animal attractions and entertainment for the full family – best of all, free entry!
