What’s on near North Cornwall for Easter 2016

Easter is a fantastic time to be around North Cornwall.  Not only do you get the benefits of the stunning springtime scenery, but you can also make the most of the numerous Easter events due to take place.  We can’t possibly list them all, but here is a selection of our favourites.  If we’ve missed one, let us know in the comments below!

Annual Charity Beer Festival, Lostwithiel

13th Annual Lostwithiel Charity Beer Festival.  Entry £5.  Wide range of beers all at £2.50 per pint, £1.30 per half. Quality wines supplied by Ellis Wharton Wines of Par at £2.50 per glass and soft drinks and food also available.  Live RBS Six Nations rugby showing Wales v. Italy at 2.30 p.m., Ireland v. Scotland at 5.00 p.m. and France v. England at 8.00 p.m. on a big screen.  Live music and comedy in the evening from JOHNNY COWLING and a disco.  Organised by The Rotary Club of Lostwithiel with all profits going to Rotary charities.

Find the Easter Chicks, Clovelly

10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Children receive a village map on entry on which to mark the location and number of Easter chicks perched up and down the tumbling cottages along the High Street to the Quay.  Return the map to the Visitor Centre reception if you spot at least 10 chicks to win an Easter egg and a bigger prize if you spot all 15.

Easter Eggstravaganza! Launceston

Come visit the finest DIVERSE, quirky, Easter Eggstravaganza to help you find and purchase gifts and treats with a difference for Easter.  From jewellery to cakes, candles, cookware, cards, home furnishings and various handcrafted nik-naks we will have a wide variety of handmade and commercial items from the best local traders in the South West.  Free entry to all guests and visitors, this will be a fun day out with plenty of wonderful stands to browse at Launceston Town Hall.

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts, Cotehele

11am – 4pm

£2 per child (normal admission charges apply).  Win a Cadbury chocolate Egghead on this annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt around the garden.  You’ll start at the Easter marquee, follow clues around the garden to unscramble the puzzle, then meet back at the marquee to claim your prize.  Additional prices: £2.00 per trail.  The puzzle is suitable for ages under 10, but fun for the family to do together. Assistance dogs are welcome.  Bring your thinking cap so you’ll be able to unscramble the puzzle.

BIG Sheep Easter Eggstravaganza, Festival

The BIG Sheep’s Easter Eggstravaganza Festival has now become a firm fixture in the West country’s calendar of events when visitors explore every nook and cranny of the fun family attraction in search of one of  30,000 chocolate eggs which will be hidden throughout the site, take part in eggciting Easter events and enjoy a magical spring day to remember!   There will be free face painting and a chance to meet the Easter bunny. Don’t forget to bring your camera as the Easter Bunny loves to have his picture taken with children and adults.

£2 Easter trail with chocolate prize.  The Easter Bunny has been up to mischief here in the Old Post Office, hiding the chocolate eggs. Can you solve the clues Bunny has hidden around the house and be rewarded with a Cadbury chocolate prize?  £2 per trail with a Cadbury Easter treat as your prize. Wadebridge Good Food Day

Feeling hungry? On Easter Bank Holiday Monday, Wadebridge will play host to a Good Food Day, featuring many local and regional producers of quality food products.    There will be food and craft traders along Molesworth St, in the rotunda area outside the Co-op, and on the Piazza around J-Shoes, with local musicians adding to the ambience.

One of the highlights of the calendar in the south-west.  A fragrant celebration of Cornish garden mania. Exuberant displays with camellias, daffodils, rhododendrons guaranteeing a colourful spectacle at the Boconnoc Estate. featuring show gardens, horticultural trade stands and competitive classes.  Dogfriendly too!

– Lindt Bunny Hunt – For some magical family moments this Easter, hop through the gardens at Rosemoor on the trail of the Lindt Gold Bunny, following clues to lead you to a delicious Lindt treat for the hoppy-est Easter ever!

Join a bracing tramp around the garden and woods to explore the stunning drifts of spring bulbs carpeting the ground. Please wear old clothes.

– Bloom & Zoom workshop for families – 8th & 10th April
Using Mrs Recycle’s collection of colourful found items, learn to make funky flowers for adorning window boxes, gardens and pots. You can also make fantastic flying machines that will reach high into the sky, zooming up on jets of water!
