What’s On Guide – February Half-term 2017

February is a great time to visit the Tamar Valley.  Not only are you treated to early Spring flowers, but you can enjoy the wonderful selection of half-term activities laid on by local attractions.  Most venues are holding some sort of special events, but here are a handful of dates that look particularly fun.  Have we missed one?  Let us know in the comments below or on social media!

 “The whole family will enjoy our daily shows from the Imagination Seekers, inspired by the works of Roald Dahl.  Take part in interactive story sessions with our own Eden Narrators, contribute to the big book exchange, and get hands-on with craft workshops and games. We will also be hosting some very special guests from the world of children’s book”


The Big Sheep: Lambing Live! – Bideford
Saturday 11th – Sunday 19th February 2017

Dangerous Dads Event: Wheal Martyn – Bodmin

Bird Box Day: Lydford Gorge – Okehampton

Come along to Lydford Gorge to make your own bird box with help from our National Trust ranger team.    Booking essential.   Admission applies.  13:00 – 15:00.  All £5.00 per bird box.  Suitability: Dogs on leads are welcome.


Cornwall Air Ambulance Open Day – Trevithick, Newquay
Sunday 19th February 2017 11:00am to 4:00pm

“Cornwall Air Ambulance Open Day at Airbase HQ near Newquay.  A chance to meet your helicopter and its paramedic crew.  Bargains from our pop-up shop, teas & cakes, teddy tombola, raffle and lots more fun for all the family. Free parking and free entry although donations gratefully received.”
