Great Vegetarian and Vegan Places to Eat – North Cornwall

If you’re a vegetarian or vegan, no doubt you will appreciate the gradual rise in establishments that offer suitable food in and around North Cornwall.  We’re not talking a tired vegetable bake or sloppy risotto, but creative and delicious meat-free options – read on!

For this blog post, we’ve collected some of our favourite places to eat in and around North Cornwall.  Some of them do sell meat products too, but we have labelled the exclusively vegetarian / vegan options.

Vega – Tintagel (Vegan menu only)A fantastic spot in Tintagel, offering very generous portions of home-cooked vegan food.  Everything from tapas to pastas, cake to curry!   Currently only open on weekends, see their Facebook page for more details:

Get Your Veg On – Bude (Vegetarian & Vegan)This unassuming yellow shack, positioned down by Bude canal, has grew a loyal following and has even had the attention of national newspapers.  They serve a variety of vegan and vegetarian streetfood, from wraps and nachos to salads and toasties, and also have a good range of gluten-free options.

Temple – Bude (Vegetarian and meat options)Don’t let the fact that they serve non-vegetarian food put your off – their meat-free options are creative and very tasty!  With a relaxed, modern vibe, and friendly attentive service, Temple offers ethical, organic food for when you’re fancying a little treat.

 ​ The Green House – Launceston (Vegetarian and meat options)

The Green House offers a small menu of healthy light meals and snacks, such as salad bowls and bagels.  However, where it really stands out are its juices and smoothies, freshly made for you from a menu of nearly 20 choices.

The Bank – Bude (Vegetarian and meat options)Nestled down by the river, a little way outside the main thoroughfares of Bude, we’ve been a fan of this tapas restaurant for some time.  For vegetarians and vegans it offers a surprising number of dishes; salads, tapas dishes like pan fried padron peppers or Spanish omelette, aromatic rice – see their menu online for more details.

The Molesworth Arms – Pyworthy, Holsworthy (Vegetarian and meat options)
If you’re looking for a pub with a traditional feel that can still cater for vegans and vegetarians, look no further.  They usually 3 or 4 main dishes for the meat-free eater, they are always well cooked and the staff go above and beyond to please – contact them in advance if you eat gluten-free, and they will always accommodate.
