For a special winter break, spend Christmas or New Year with us...

Each season at Tamar Valley Cottages has its own charm, but Christmas and New Year take some beating.

All our cottages are carefully adorned with tasteful decorations so you can feel comfortable and festive in your home-from-home.  They are well-equipped too, so just pop the dishes into the dishwasher, put some festive music on the iPod dock / hifi, and put your feet up.

Our winters are relatively mild with just the occasional dusting of festive snow, so feel free to wrap up with a scarf and wander the empty beaches to witness the spectacular crashing Atlantic, or take an exhilarating walk on the frosty moors.  A good pint or well-earned hot-chocolate awaits you in many a cosy pub with a roaring log-fire.

Cornish towns including Padstow celebrate with their Christmas festivals and markets, and everywhere is decorated with the festive illuminations.  Whether you’re looking for some cosy carols in an ancient church, or a lively shin-dig with brandy and mince pies, there are plenty of Christmas and New Year events to keep you entertained – head over to our blog to read the latest What’s On guides.

Equally, you may wish to enjoy the rural tranquillity of the cottages and their grounds, and avoid the throngs of merrymakers in the towns.

In Victorian times the main house was the local vicarage, so if you fancy a Christmas service we’re just a stone’s throw from the beautiful village church.

It’s been a long year.  Round it off with a treat for you and your loved ones.
